PGAHC Creative Accelerator Participant Questionnaire
Congratulations on being a part of PGAHC Inaugural Accelerator program. The program is designed to fit the unique needs of each participant which will focus on two cohorts. Below is information about the programs. Please complete the following Questionnaire due by May 19, 2025. This will allow us to adapt the program and workshops to fit each cohort's general and specific needs.
PRIMARY GOAL: Build sustainable infrastructure to support the creative economy and creative entrepreneur ecosystem in Prince George’s County Maryland.
PGAHC's strategic focus underscores its ambitions: to catalyze artistic excellence and innovation through an equity lens, expand its grant-making programs, revitalize neighborhood and public spaces via capacity building and creative placemaking, and advance arts-centered economic development, with a particular emphasis on the film and entertainment sectors
Accelerator Program Goals – Outcomes
Enhancing Skills and Business Acumen for Creative Ventures - Build the capacity of new and existing creative entrepreneurs to develop sound business structuring, business planning, and business financial management skills, which positions them for success.
Improving Access to and Utilization of Capital - Increase knowledge of creative entrepreneurs on how to scale their businesses, understanding all the forms of capital and expanding access to this capital.
PROGRAM OUTLINE:
The program will consist of a series of workshops over 4 weeks delivered through weekly virtual sessions. Suggested topics are indicated below but will be narrowed down to focus on the needs of the selected cohort participants, identified through an application and selection process. We plan to offer thematic industry/discipline focused sessions, along with other targeted enhancements for creative entrepreneurs.
1. Accelerator for Fashion and Interior Design Businesses and Entrepreneurs – This series of workshops is designed for entrepreneurs and businesses in the Fashion/apparel, Interior Design and home goods Industry who have an existing product or service.
2. Accelerator for Filmmaking and related Businesses and Entrepreneurs – This series of workshops is designed for those in the film industry who may need skills, assets or resources to enhance their management and operational effectiveness. Up to 10 Participants
Eligibility and Participation Criteria
Must be a business/entrepreneur in the fashion, interior design or film industries including but not limited to film and media arts, wearable art, clothing, fine art interior design and home goods products and services, artisan soaps, skincare, candles and similar products.
- The principal office of the business must be in Prince George's County (MD), and be a registered as a business entity in the State of Maryland.
- f not yet a business entity, or if registration has lapsed, then applicant must acquire one or become current by June 30, 2025.
- We encourage entrepreneurs from a wide variety of demographic backgrounds to apply including veterans
- Must have at least a 2-year history of operating the business submitted in the application and must show evidence of the business’ products and services.
